Khartoum, July 14 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, the Army Commander-in-Chief, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan has commended the effective role played by the European Union in supporting the democratic transition in Sudan, explaining the necessity for the continuation in this support to assist the country to overcome the internal and external challenges facing the country.
The TSC President who received, today, in the Republican Palace, the EU Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Weber has outlined that the government components work in full harmony to complete the state’s structure to carry out the legal reforms that pave the way for strengthening freedoms, affirming that the military component is committed to support the democratic transition.
“The Transitional Government is keen to maintain full stability in the region and works for the maintaining stability in the neighboring Ethiopia” He stressed.
The EU official, on her part, affirmed the efforts being exerted by the Transitional Government to strengthen the democratic transition, confirming the EU keenness to support the country.
