The Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt-General, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan met, Tuesday, at his office, at the Republican Palace, the visiting UN Secretary General Undersecretary for Field Support, Atual Khare.
The meeting focused on the wide cooperation between the UN and the Government of Sudan to strengthen peace, security and stability.
The International Official outlined in press statement said the two sides confirmed Sudan’s commitment for the continuation with the international organization during the coming period, explaining that he has congratulated the TSC Head on the successes achieved by the Government of the Transitional Period.
“The meeting also reviewed the situations in Darfur in the light of the ongoing arrangements for the UNAMID’s exit scheduled for June.30-2021” He said.
Khare underlined that the efforts being exerted by the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (UNISFA), indicating that he conveyed to Al-Burhan the wishes of the Secretary-General of the United Nations that Sudan enjoy peace, security and prosperity.
