Khartoum, Oct. 4 (SUNA) – The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, received on Monday the credentials of the new Ambassador of France to Sudan, Rajaa Rabie.
In a press statement, the French ambassador expressed her pleasure that her appointment coincides with the democratic transformation that Sudan is witnessing.
She praised the great achievements made by the transitional government and the fruitful cooperation between civilians and the military, which ensures the stability in the country and enhances the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement for peace in Sudan, noting that the tasks of the new transitional government are still difficult.
Ambassador Rajaa has commended what has already been achieved in Sudan with regard to individual freedoms, stressing the importance of preserving human rights, especially concerning the freedoms of expression and the press and women rights, stating that these achievements shall be reinforced by establishing a legislative assembly.
She explained that the revolution has contributed to the normalization of Sudan relations with the international community and enabled international partners to unite in support of Sudan during the Paris Conference which was held on May 17, 2021.
