Khartoum, Dec. 13 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris, called for convocation of the Security and Defence Council and the Joint Supreme Council in Al-Fasher, North Darfur State, to review the overall security situation in Darfur region.
He said in a press statement that the situation in Darfur is unstable and witnessing security violations, a matter which requires cooperation and coordination between all to find solutions to the security crisis, adding that the instability of Darfur will negatively affect the country’s national security.
He pointed out that the convening of the Security and Defence Council and the Joint Supreme Council in Al-Fasher will confirm seriousness of the government and armed movements in extending security and stability and formation of joint forces from all movements, and will render the center closely aware about to the situation in the Darfur region.
Dr. Idris would visit Korma area, western of Al-Fasher city, to attend graduation of new batch of the Sudan Liberation Army Movement – the Transitional Council.
The member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council is accompanied by the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, the state’s security committee, representatives of Darfur track, members of the native administrations and a UNITAMS mission.
