Cabinet extends invitation to UAE to participate in Paris Conference 

Cabinet Affairs Minister Eng. Khalid Omer Yusuf has commended efforts that were exerted by the sisterly United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Sudanese peace negotiations in the Republic of South Sudan that led to the historic agreement in last October, stressing that the Sudanese-Emirati relations are deeply-rooted and solid.

This came when the minister received at his office here today UAE Ambassador to Sudan Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al-Junaibi, in the presence of Director of Arab Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Abdel-Rahman Swaraddahab.

The meeting discussed ways and means of boosting further bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries, especially in the economic fields. 

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs conveyed to the ambassador invitation to the UAE to participate in Paris Conference, which is scheduled for next May, and focuses on investments in Sudan and writing off the country’s foreign debt besides supporting the Sudanese Peace Agreement to pave the way for democratic transition in the country.

The UAE Ambassador, on his part, congratulated the minister on assuming his post, affirming his country’s support to the transitional government, calling for opening horizons of joint investments in the agricultural field.
