Council of Ministers approves poverty-reduction strategy 

Khartoum, May 11 (SUNA) – The Council of Ministers held its regular session today, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok.

The council heard a briefing by the Prime Minister on the outcome of the visit by the delegation of the US Congress led by Senator Christopher Coons to get acquainted with the situations in the country.

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Engineer Khalid Omer Yusuf, presented a briefing to the council on ongoing preparations for the Paris Conference.

The Council of Minister got assured on the preparations for the conference, affirming that it represents an important step for reintegration of the Sudan into the international community, a matter that would maximize return from the investment projects.

 The Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Prof. Yasir Abbas, presented a briefing to the Cabinet on latest developments concerning the Renaissance Dam.

Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers approved the comprehensive poverty reduction strategy 2021-2023 document, which was presented by the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Gebriel Ibrahim.
