El Fasher, Dec.29(SUNA)-The Security Committee of the North Darfur State, , has declared imposition of a curfew in the State as from 06:00pm to 05:00am until further notice.
The this came following an emergency meeting today which was chaired by the Secretary-General of the State government , Hafiz Bakheet Mohamed at premises of the government of the State
The declaration came on background he widespread looting that took place yesterday afternoon and evening of the warehouses of the World Food Program (WFP) in El Fasher, which were completely looted and burned, in addition to similar looting operations of the Joint UN-AU Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) HQs, which began Last Friday and continued until Monday.
. ., Director of Police and Rapporteur of the State Security Committee, Maj. Gen.(police) Abdul Karim Hamdo said in a brief press statement after the meeting that the committee had expressed during its meeting its regret over the occurrence of these incidents, and called on citizens to abide by the curfew decision to preserve their lives, stressing at the same time that the committee had prepared a plan to secure Strategic and vital facilities in the State.
