The Sudanese Customs Authority issued today an explanatory statement clarifying reasons behind the increasing of customs dollar to an equivalent of SDG20.
The Authority affirmed in its statement that the increase of customs dollar is part of implementing polices and reforms targeted improvement of macroeconomics.
The statement added that customs dollar is used in determining the value of imported commodities and unifying all customs deals for purpose of collecting fees and customs duties.
This, according to the statement, takes place away from market speculations and multiplicity of currency exchange rates.
These days according to the statement the Sudanese pound is witnessing stability before foreign currencies.
Meanwhile, the statement predicted possible declining of Dollar exchange rate in short period of time.
” This recovery, means would lead ultimately to the cancelation of customs dollar”the statement concluded.
