Khartoum, June 16 (SUNA) – The First Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, Wednesday chaired at the Republican Palace a meeting of the higher committee for following up implementation of the Juba agreement for peace in Sudan, in the presence of the members of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Yasser Al-Atta, Malik Aggar, and Al-Hadi Idris, the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdala Hamdouk, the Governor of Darfur Region, Menni Arko Mennawi, and members of the committee.
In a press statement, the spokesman of the committee, Nur-Eddayem Mohamed Ahmed Taha, said that the meeting has discussed the obstacles facing implementation of the security arrangements and recommended expediting formation of the joint peace-keeping forces.
He said that the meeting also reviewed the security violations witnessed in Khartoum and other states in the country.
Taha added that the meeting decided the call for a meeting the joint higher council for the security arrangements, and issuing a decision on the command and control of the mechanisms related to the security arrangements.
