Port Sudan, March 17 (SUNA) – Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo inspected today progress of work at Bashayer Port.
The TSC Vice-President heard during his inspection visit today, accompanied by Red Sea State’s Wali (governor), ministers of the economic sector and specialists, a thorough briefing by the port director about the problems and challenges that face performance of the harbor and its employees, where he pledged to overcome all obstacles and find solutions to them as soon as possible.
On the other hand, the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council and his accompanying delegation also visited Osman Digna Port, which is about 65 kilometers from Port Sudan, with an area that can accommodate more than 12,000 containers of general cargo and exports.
Director of the port Dr. Taha Ahmed Mohamed explained that they need to increase the existing spaces, which are now insufficient due to the steady increase of goods, as they increased by 261% of containers and refrigerators.
Daglo also got acquainted with progress of work at the water desalination plant of the port, and pledged to remove all problems it faces.
