Daglo: Peace should be guarded by all

Damazin, July 11 (SUNA) – First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has affirmed that peace that has been realized in the country should be guarded by all and commitment to implementation of all provisions of the peace agreement that has realized many gains for all the Sudanese people.

Daglo, addressing celebrations of reception of the new Governor of Blue Nile Region here today, said “peace that we all sought with a sincere will has now come. The Juba Agreement on Peace in Sudan was good news for our people in all of Sudan. Salute to the leaders of the armed struggle movements who became partners in the transitional government. I also hail the sisterly Republic of South Sudan that bore the burden of mediation and hosted the negotiations until they were crowned with success.”

He said the transitional government faces many challenges, top of them the economic difficulties besides the security challenges which are represented in hate speech and tribalism that require from all to assume positive roles to address and contain them.

The First Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council said “here, we affirm our welcome to the initiative of the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, and we call to rally around it, as there are many other initiatives put forward by a number of bodies, all of which are aimed at developing comprehensive solutions to the Sudanese crisis. We call for the unification of all these initiatives in one initiative that achieves comprehensive national consensus with the participation of all Sudanese without excluding anyone, as long as they are one, and it is the only way out for us to achieve the goals and requirements of the Sudanese revolution.”
