Dr. Salma addresses Sudan Movement Induction Workshop on International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement 

 Khartoum, March 17 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar Al-Mubarak has expressed appreciation for the role being played by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) towards Sudan and its people.

The TSC’s Member, addressing at the Grand Hotel here today the Sudan Movement Induction Workshop on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement stressed that Sudan has preceded many countries in the region in its concern with such organizations, and that the Sudanese Red Crescent Society is capable to highlight the bright face of Sudan and the aspirations of its people.

She pointed out that the Sudanese people are peace-loving people, and are looking forward to the position they deserve among the countries of the region and the world, and they have something to offer at the level of their youth and women.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Central Steering Committee of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society Al-Fadil Amer Al-Tahir explained that the workshop dealt with opinions and ideas aimed at developing the work of the national society (Sudanese Red Crescent Society), as well as coordination among the components of the international movement.

Amer indicated that the workshop touched on the need to establish partnerships at the local, regional and international levels, and to build a strong national society capable of performing its duties to the fullest.

Leaders from the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies participate in the workshop.
