Khartoum, Mar. 30 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Dr. Salma Abdul-Jabbar, has affirmed the importance of support to the spread of the peace culture for enhancing the social stability and the national unity.
This came during her meeting Wednesday at the Republican Palace with the higher committee for organizing the First Social Peace Support Festival.
She pledged to sponsor holding of the festival to achieve its goals.
The rapporteur of the higher committee, Ala-Eddin Idris, explained in a press statement that the festival is scheduled to start on May 14 in Khartoum State, under the motto “ Dissemination of Peace Culture and Patching up the Social Fabric”, adding that the festival will cover all the states of Sudan.
Idris indicated that the festival activities will include competitions in the fields of arts, theatre, drama, singing and music.
