Khartoum, Jan.17(SUNA)-Secretary-General of Government of Darfur Region Dr Tawhida Abdel Rahman Yusuf met today in her office with a delegation from the Jebel Moon Initiative .
The meeting pointed to important role of the communal initiative after the recent incidents in West Darfur through providing humanitarian assistance to the displaced people and refugees at camps.
Dr Tawhida commended the Initiative and efforts of members of the delegation to help people of the area.
Representative of the delegation Amna Adam Fasher , for her part, said the Initiative sought efforts of leading and very important persons in the government as well as organizations of civil society to raise the people’s awareness so as to prevent repetition of such regrettable incidents.
The delegation, meanwhile , affirmed that the Initiative was made to help the people who were affected by the recent incidents in West Darfur and in all states of the country.
