FM affirms solidarity of West Africa with Sudan 

Khartoum, June 2 (SUNA) – Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi has affirmed that Sudan received wide solidarity and support from a number of the African Presidents and leaders concerning its position over the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

Dr. Mariam in press statements to SUNA following her return, this evening, from West African tour that took her to Ghana, Senegal and Niger, described the tour as “successful”.

She pointed out that the visit aimed at clarifying Sudan’s position over the Renaissance Dam and reviewing the country’s bilateral relations with these countries.

On the bilateral relations, Dr. Mariam said the visit aimed at reactivation of the relations and agreements with these countries, describing Sudan’s relations with the West African countries as historical.

The minister affirmed the reaching agreements on reactivating the agreements, holding of the Ministerial and Political Consultation committees and scaling up of the diplomatic representation.
