FM presents Sudan’s address at Non-Aligned Movement’s anniversary celebrations 

Khartoum, Oct. 12 (SUNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi presented Sudan’s address at the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Serbian capital of Belgrade yesterday.

The minister stressed in the address importance of the occasion as it is a historic and symbolic event in the context of human solidarity and unwavering consensus to serve a number of noble principles that include promotion of human rights, respect for equality between races, respect for the sovereignty of states, promotion of common interests, mutual cooperation and the principles of justice and pluralism, hailing the founding fathers of the movement for their contribution to laying these valuable principles.

In her statement, the Minister touched on the political and economic developments taking place in the Sudan, outlining the efforts undertaken by the transitional government in laying the foundations for peace, freedom and justice, and establishing a solid democratic system, noting the ongoing efforts to complete the transitional authority structures in the country, and to address the challenges facing the peace-building process.
