June 21 (SUNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, received in her office the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Development and Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Head of the United Nations Special Representative for the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), Ms. Khardiata Lo N’Diaye.
The minister has welcomed Ms. Khadija Loungai and wished her success in her mission in Sudan and expressed Sudan appreciation of the support being extended by the United Nations and its organs to Sudan. The two sides affirmed the importance of coordination and partnership between the government and the UN and its organizations to achieve maximum benefits from all the support provided to serve the higher interests of the Sudanese people, inform the international community with the post-revolution Sudan, and to support the country to face the current challenges. Dr. Mariam stated that looks forward for the UN support in the fields of training and capacity building for the employees in the government institutions and to support the youth and the women empowerment.
