Khartoum, Dec. 15 (SUNA) – The Undersecretary of Culture and Tourism at the Ministry of Culture and Information, Dr. Graham Abdul-Gadir, stated that Democracy means that people are to move to a wider space in which people’s rights and demands are fulfilled, and that we make all Sudanese enjoy their Sudanese nationality, stressing widest space for shall be available for the cultural expression, political participation and freedoms.
In his address at the Forum for Culture and Democratic Transformation, which was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information Wednesday, Graham said that the forum aims to discussing the relation between culture and the democratic transformation.
In a statement to SUNA, Abdalla Adam Khatir said that “many Sudanese people believe that the current political and economic crisis is not solvable, but by searching and resorting to history and the reality of our culture and by benefiting from the experiences of other nations, we can perhaps develop a Sudanese model that can contribute to accelerating the democratic experiment in the African continent and in the world around us”.
