Khartoum, Sept 29 (SUNA) – The Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Lt-General, Shams Edeen Kabbashi has commended the role being played by the United Nations Integrated Transitional Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS).
Gen. Kabbashi who received, Wednesday, the United Nations Secretary General Representative in Sudan, the Head of the mission, Volker Perthes reiterated the Transitional Government’s keenness to complete the political transition tasks in the country and handling power to an elected authority by the end of the Transitional Period.
Volker told reporters that the meeting focused on three topics including the dialogue between the components of the transitional government to overcome the differences, the situations in Eastern Sudan and the negotiations with the People’s Movement led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilo.
The international official pointed out that the UNITAMS is pre-occupied by the current developments in Sudan, referring to the necessity for holding comprehensive dialogue to remove differences and preserve the achievements realized during the last two years.
He called on all the concerned parties t engage in dialogue to end the disagreements.
