Medani, Mar. 21(SUNA) – The acting Governor of Gezira Scheme, Engineer Ali Mohamed Ibrahim, received on Monday a delegation of a Canadian Investment companies’ group, in the presence of a number of scheme’s leading officials in the framework of the trend of the higher scheme’s administration to attract foreign investments.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the Gezira Scheme’s administration and the delegation of the Canadian group which expressed its readiness to engage with the scheme in funding a number of projects, as a sum of one billion euros was assigned to implement several programs including the growing of cotton and wheat, besides the finance of a factory to produce urea fertilizers and the other processing industries.
The cooperation will also include rehabilitation the Unit of Seed Increasing, according to studies that will be prepared by the scheme’s administration to expose them to the Canadian companies’ group for implementing the programs.
