Juba, May 31 (SUNA) – The Cabinet Affairs Minister, the Government Official Spokesman, Khaled Omar Yousef has indicated to the resumption of the Second meeting of the negotiation between the government delegation and the SPLM/N chaired by the Chairman of South Sudan mediation team, Tut Galwak with the participation of UNITAMS amid wide regional and international presence.
“ The negotiating government delegation delivered its response to the draft framework agreement that was presented by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM)/ North during the first session of the negotiation with the mediation team, which ,in turn, delivered it to the head of the SPLM delegation north of the negotiator, Commander, Ammar Amoun” He said.
He underlined the Chairman of the Government Delegation Gen. said the draft of the Frame work Agreement welcomed and accepted by Sudan’s government and represents an objective framework for launching the direct negotiations between the two parties.
During the press briefing after the session, the official spokesperson for the government delegation affirmed the positivity of the draft framework agreement submitted by the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/ North, and that it represents a strong basis for reaching agreements on the three axes of negotiation in a short time between the two parties if we present common answers on points of differences.
The official spokesperson for the government delegation also indicated the high symbolism of South Sudan hosting the Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, and that reaching peace between the two parties addresses the roots of the Sudanese national crisis, and also represents an apology to the people of Southern Sudan for the loss of the country’s unity due to the policies of exclusion, racism, lack of justice and the failure of building the national state, And now we begin to lay down the foundations for building a new Sudan.
He underlined that negotiations will resume between the two parties tomorrow, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, in response to the one-day deadline presented by the SPLM-North delegation to study the observations and assessment of the Sudanese government delegation on the draft framework agreement, in preparation for embarking on direct negotiations.
