Gulwak and Revolutionary Front Discuss Implementation of Peace Agreement 

Khartoum, June 5 (SUNA) – The Revolutionary Front Saturday held a meeting with the southern mediation team headed by the Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs, Tut Gulwak,

The rapporteur of the Leadership Council of the Revolutionary Front, Dr. Mohamed Zakaria, said in a press statement after the meeting that the meeting included all parties of the peace process from the leaders of the Revolutionary Front who signed the Juba Peace Agreement.

The meeting has discussed progress of the implementation of the agreement in various tracks, as the participants stressed the need to expedite the implementation of what was agreed upon in the agreement in the course of the East track and the importance of completing the involvement of eastern Sudan in the legislative body and the Council of Partners, and its representation in the formation of the higher committees for implementing the East track agreement.

 Dr. Mohamed Zakaria said that the issue of security arrangements and their implementation was also discussed, noting that they agreed on the necessity of forming higher committees to supervise the security arrangements file.

He said meeting stressed the importance of holding a meeting of the higher committee for evaluation and monitoring, which is an international higher committee stipulated in the peace agreement on June 8th in Khartoum.

The meeting appreciated the role of the international community and the Friends of Sudan in providing the necessary support for the implementation of the peace agreement.

The head of the southern mediation, Advisor Tut Gulwak, has praised the government role and its work on implementing the mechanisms of the Juba Peace Agreement, explaining that he discussed with the leaders of the Revolutionary Front the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement and the mechanism for implementing the agreement with regard to security arrangements, especially these forces are deployed in many places, indicating that these forces will be integrated into the Sudanese  Armed Forces.

He pointed out that the Revolutionary Front affirmed in a good spirit its commitment to the Juba Peace Agreement, as the Sovereignty Council includes three of the members who signed this agreement, as well as the appointment of the Ministers of the Revolutionary Front who signed the agreement.
