Khartoum, May 24 (SUNA) – The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Monday received at his office the Regional Representative of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Director of the Sudan office, Farid Abdel Gadir, in the presence of the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, Al-Fadil Amer, and the Secretary-General of the Steering Committee Dr. Afaf Ahmed.
The Regional Representative of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent presented during the meeting a briefing on the cooperation achieved between the International Federation and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
The Chairman and Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society also presented a verbal report on the performance of the committee during the past year, which included the comprehensive reform of the Sudanese society and its return to its usual role.
The Prime Minister thanked the delegation for the great efforts made and decided extension the mission of the steering committee of the Sudanese Red Crescent for a new year so as to complete its tasks.
