The Higher Committee for Health Emergencies chaired by the Minister of Health. Omar Ahmed Al-Najeeb and presence of the Sovereignty Council, Aysha Musa held a meeting, Wednesday, at the Republican Palace.
The meeting focused on the general situation of the COVID-19 infections and fatalities on local and international level, expressing concern over the escalating numbers of infections and fatalities in the country.
The meeting discussed the precautionary measures concerning the protection of the citizens representing in wearing masks and social distancing.
The meeting decided to oblige all public and private institutions in the country to direct all their employees to wear masks and, and to abide by the rules of social distancing within the institutions.
“The committee members briefed on the roll-out program of the COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca which arrived in the country recently” Al-Najeeb indicated.

He confirmed that the vaccine is safe and that the side effects resulting from it are much less than the risk resulting from infection with Corona virus.
