Khartoum, Sept 30 (SUNA) – Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Prof. Yasser Abbas received, today, at his office, the US Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Jeffery Feltman, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Africa and Sudan, Bryan Hunt and a number of officials of the US State Department and the US embassy in Khartoum.
The meeting discussed the developments of the Renaissance Dam File and Washington efforts for reaching abiding and legal agreement for all parties in the nearest possible time.
The Sudanese side renewed the importance of the implementation of the Presidential Statement issued by the United Nations in this connection.
The Sudanese and US sides exchanged views on the statements exchanged by the Minister of Irrigation and his Ethiopian counterpart during this month.
