SAYARA’s Sudan Country Program operates from Khartoum, Sudan and is part of the East and Horn of Africa Regional Program. The regional team conducts projects in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Sudan and delivers services to clients around the world, including the United Nations (UNDP, UNOPS, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF, UN Women), the European Union, governments (US, UK, France), universities, international NGOs, and other major donors. Headquartered in the Washington, DC region with local offices in Kenya, Sudan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Colombia, and France, SAYARA is responsive to client needs in complex environments through local expert knowledge and an ethical, evidence-based approach.
Sayara International is seeking experienced translators in the following main languages:
- English to Arabic
- Arabic to English
Translation companies or consortiums are encouraged to apply. Sudanese and non-Sudanese individual applicants are also encouraged to apply. Our purpose is to have a pool of professional translators available for translation of requested documents (questionnaires, training material, brochures, reports etc) Translators are expected to deliver high quality translation of assignments meeting reasonable deadlines.
Candidates/ companies are invited to send us the following:
o Quotation for translating 250 words/ one page in word document;
o CV including relevant experience in humanitarian and economic development or related sectors
o Work samples translated in the last two years (Arabic into English or English into Arabic)
Candidates must have:
o At least a BA in translation (or equivalent experience)
o Not less than two years of experience in the field of translation
o Familiarity with INGO, UN agencies writing in English and Arabic, and general knowledge of humanitarian development sector.
