The  rise has disrupted  all the  irrigation pumps  in the irrigated  schemes  in the state of Sennar, while the owners of orchards treated their irrigation units so as not to be affected.by  this sudden increase.

Wali (governor) of Sennar State Al-Mahi Mohamed Suleiman said in a statement to SUNA that more efforts should be made locally and federally to address the issue of stabilization of  water levels between  Roseires and Sennar dams to preserve  the  irrigation pumps and resume irrigation operations to save the  agricultural production, which is in its last phases  and in need of irrigation.

He  added that the Irrigation Undersecretary had  reassured him that the effort is continuing with the dams officials  to address the issue of water levels.
