The Minister of Justice, Dr. Nasr-Eddin Abdul-Bari, Wednesday received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), Volker Perthes, and the accompanying delegation, and discussed ways of cooperation between the two sides to ensure the realization of justice and to accomplish the tasks of the transitional period.
The Minister of Justice has briefed the Head of UNITAMS and the accompanying delegation on the tasks of the ministry and what has been accomplished and the ministry’s priorities in the coming period.
He also presented a proposal for a cooperation mechanism between the Ministry of Justice and UNITAMS office that is based on consultations and benefiting from the experiences of the United Nations in the legal reform field.
Perthes has affirmed the UNITAMS keenness to support the Ministry of Justice in realizing its goals and tasks in the transitional period.
