Khartoum, Sep.26(SUNA)-The Ministry of Culture and Information and the United Nations Entity for Empowerment of Women signed on Sunday a Partnership Agreement on empowerment of women at level of Ministry of Culture and Information and institutions affiliated to the Ministry as well as at the level of media work the country-wide.
The partnership aims to boost the capabilities of the Ministry by receiving training and logistic support from the United Nations Entity for Empowerment of Women for boosting participation and the pioneering role of women.
Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information, Al Rashid Saeed has underscored the Ministry’s concern with women and gender issues, revealing that 70% of his Ministry’s workers are women and 60% of the leadership positions occupied by women.
He asserted the Ministry readiness to provide support to other circles in area of promoting the role of women through the media campaigns and the sector of culture for recognizing importance of the gender and empowerment of women issues.
