Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi received at Al-Etihadiah Palace in Cairo today Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madboli, Finance Minister Dr. Mohamed Maeit and Head of General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamil.
President Al-Sisi welcomed Dr. Hamdok in Cairo, affirming the deep-rooted and historical relations linking the two countries and reiterating Egypt’s support to the transitional government of the Sudan in all fields.
The two sides discussed ways and means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of training, implementation of electricity inter-connection project, railways linking and encouraging joint investments projects in the agricultural and industrial fields besides the commercial and economic relations between the two sisterly countries.
The meeting also reviewed the latest developments concerning the issue of Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and the importance of reaching a binding legal agreement on filling and operation of the dam.
The two sides agreed to continue their efforts with international parties for implementation of the Sudan’s proposal calling for a quadruple mediation to help Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia to reach an agreement acceptable to the three parties.
