Khartoum, June 30 (SUNA) – Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Prof. Yasser Abbas left, Wednesday, for the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa to participate in the 42th regular meeting of the Irrigation Ministers of the southern Nile-basin countries.
The meetings will discuss the new budget for the projects implemented in the southern Nile-basin member-states, where the Democratic Republic of Congo will take over the chairmanship of the organization from Ethiopia.
Prof. Abbas said in press statements affirmed Sudan’s keenness and openness over cooperation and coordination with the member –states to benefit from the water resources on fair basis and according to the Water International Law.
The southern Nile-basin countries include Sudan, Suth Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Ruanda, Burundi, Kenya and Tanzania.
