Singa, Sennar State, July 4 (SUNA)- Singa Criminal Court issued today its verdict on the case against a number of the symbols of the defunct regime in Sennar State in the suit concerning disposal of Kenaf Agricultural Scheme.
The court convicted the first defendant, ex-Wali of Sennar State Ahmed Abbas Mohamed Saad under Article (13-g) of Dismantling of Empowerment of June 30 Regime and Combating Corruption Act, 2019, amendment, 2020, which is pertinent to administrative corruption and abuse of power and Article (177-2) of the Criminal Law, 1991, dishonesty, and sentenced him to be kept in a correctional institution for a period of two years, effective from today.
The court acquitted other defendants in the case.
The court upheld the decision of the Higher Committee No. 483 cancelling the settlement agreement and to recover all shares of Abu Naama Food Security Company for the benefit of the Government of Sudan.
