Sittings of direct peace talks continue in Juba 

Juba, June 3 (SUNA) – Delegations of the Government of the Sudan and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North- Abdelaziz Al-Hilu continued their sittings of direct negotiations at Palm Africa Hotel in Juba today.

Today’s session of the peace talks was chaired by Rapporteur of the Southern Sudanese mediation committee Dr. Dhieu Mathok, while the delegation of the Government of Sudan was headed by Sovereignty Council Member Mohamed Hassan Al-Taishi and the delegation of SPLM-N, was led by Ammar Amon, the secretary general of the movement.

Dr. Mathok said in a press statement that the direct negotiations sitting discussed today some points related to the economic issues and reforms that are to be made in the coming period besides the security arrangements and monitoring mechanisms.

He pointed out that the negotiation would be continued in morning and evening sittings to settle all issues, noting that there are no big differences between the two parties.
