Khartoum , Dec. 5 (SUNA) – The office of the President of the Sovereignty Council has denied what was reported by the French news agency, quoting Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, alleging that Al-Burhan had said the upcoming elections would be open to all the forces that participated in the transitional phase, including the military.
The office of the President of the Sovereignty Council stressed that the French Agence France-Presse reported a talk that is different and contradictory to what Al-Burhan said, stressing that President Al-Burhan affirmed in a very clear way that participation of the military in the upcoming elections is not possible according to the text of the Constitutional Document.
In the interview with the agency, Al-Burhan indicated that Juba agreement gave some parties an exception regarding participation in the upcoming elections and organs of power, in reference to the armed movements.
However, Al-Burhan did not refer to any institutions affiliated to the Army or state institutions.
