Khartoum, June 30 (SUNA) – The concerned authorities, on Wednesday foiled attempts by the remnants of the defunct regime before they occurred, and arrested the plotters, according to the available information on their gathering places in the early hours of the morning.
Member the June 30, 1989 regime dismantling committee, Wajdi Salih told the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the raids on their dens and in hotels in the local market, the central market and in all peripheral places started at two o’clock in the morning, and other raids were also carried out on the outskirts of Al-Hawa Street and Al-Siteen and Al-Azhari and Al-Salama streets, while other groups were detained in the Sharwani Mosque square, where 79 leaders of the dissolved National Congress were arrested.
“Other elements armed with knives and daggers belonging to the criminal Nigers subversive elements were also detained” He stressed.
He said that the police authorities a number of women and girls were arrested and are being investigated
Salih assured the citizens that the situation was under full control and that the security services were closely monitoring the situation.
