Sudan and IOM Cooperation Discussed 

Khartoum, Aug. 4 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Mohamed Hassan Al-Taayeshi, Wednesday received in his office at the Republican Palace a delegation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) headed by the Acting Director of the organization’s mission in Sudan, Bernard Lamy, and discussed migration issues and the level of cooperation between the organization and the government of Sudan.

In a press statement after the meeting, Bernard said that the meeting touched on the efforts undertaken by the organization to assist the Sudanese women and youth returning from Libya, through funding from the European Union and in coordination with the government of Sudan, with the aim to providing service and assistance to these returnees.

The Acting Director of the mission of the International Organization for Migration in Sudan expressed his hope that this program would contribute to helping the stranded and returnees and improving their conditions, indicating that the meeting with a member of the Sovereignty Council was fruitful and constructive.
