The conference on the Role of Trade Unions in Democratic Transition which is organized by Al-Ayam for Cultural and Development Studies concluded sessions, Sunday.
Lecturers of Political Science, at University of Khartoum, Prof. Atta Al-Bathani, addressing the session said the Sudanese Professionals Association (SPA) is one of the experiments of the Sudanese trade union movement which is distinguished by a great ability to mobilize peoples and bring about change,
Dr. Abdel Rahim Bilal tackled the trade unions and development challenges, affirming the necessity for neglecting the political motivation inside the trade unions.
The member of the Sudanese Woman Movement, Azza Abdel Karim has affirmed the importance of the participation of woman in trade union work.
The conference reviewed a number of work papers on the role of trade unions in the democratic transition.
