Khartoum, Dec. 28 (SUNA) – The Higher Committee for Health Emergencies held a meeting at the Republican Palace today headed by Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Abdul-Baqi Abdel-Gadir Al-Zubair, head of the committee.
Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Haitham Awadallah said in a press statement that the meeting heard reports on the epidemiological situation of coronavirus pandemic in the states of Sudan, in addition to plan to combat the pandemic for the next three months, as well as an emergency plan to increase vaccination at the level of Sudan.
Dr. Haitham indicated that the meeting underscored obligation of institutions and their employees to adhere to the health requirements including wearing masks and social distancing.
He pointed out that the meeting stressed the importance of mandatory vaccination and its expansion in the states, whose campaign will start at the beginning of next March and covers teachers, police and workers in the public services and transport.
