Khartoum, March 13 (SUNA) – A five-day induction course on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement kicked off at the Grand Hotel here today, with participation of leaders of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS).
Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society El Fadel Amer said in a statement to SUNA that the training workshop tackles a number of issues that are related to the work of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement top of them coordination among the members of the movement, especially under the current developments in the world, referring to the coronavirus pandemic that caused many changes in the reality of the world that affected the activities of the red crescent and red cross societies.
Amer pointed out that the workshop is held with participation of local, regional and international experts, noting that it comes at the conclusion of training courses that had been held in the various states of the Sudan on the movement
“We hope that in this session we will start the second half of the assignment of the Central Steering Committee, which began in May 2020 and will continue till the year 2023. By this workshop, we will chart the future steps for the society until we reach the conclusion of the assignment of this committee by holding free and fair elections and convening the general assembly,” he concluded.
