Khartoum, May 15 (SUNA) – The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Sudan opened Saturday a register of condolences on the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, at the residence of the Head of Mission in Khartoum.
The first day witnessed a large presence of dignitaries, officials and leaders of Sudanese political parties and civil society organizations besides native administrations, and Sufi sects.
The speakers enumerated the feats of late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and the development witnessed by the Sudanese-UAE relations and the keenness of late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed to strengthen the popular and official relations between the two countries.
UAE Ambassador to Sudan Hamad Al Junaibi said that the UAE during the era of the late, witnessed great openness to various countries of the world, and presented good models in all fields.
Member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council Abul-Gasim Burtom, expressed heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the UAE over death of late Shiekh Khalifa, referring to his great contributions in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between the two countries, wishing his successor all success.
Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Lt. Gen. Mohamed Al-Ghali said that the Arab nation had lost a leader who had followed the path of the wiseman of the Arab nation, founder of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and expressed his sincere condolences to the government and people of UAE.
