Khartoum, July 4 (SUNA) – The Government of Sudan signed, today the Status Agreement on the UNITAMS Mission where the Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi signed for Sudan and the UN Secretary General Special Representative, Volker Perthes signed for the mission.
The signing of the Mission’s Status Agreement between the two sides is considered important step that will contribute to facilitate the assignment of the mission which based on four strategic goals included in UN Security Council Resolution No (2524).
The two sides stressed the necessity for cooperation and coordination between the Government of Transitional Period and the mission to address the challenges facing the transition and realization of the joint goals to achieve the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
