Wadi Halfa, May 15 (SUNA) – Wadi Halfa town, Northern State, witnessed Saturday, conclusion of the programs of the state marking the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, held during the period May 8-14 .
The leaders of the Red Crescent society in the state and the supervisors of the society in the localities of Al-Daba , Marowi, and Dongla participated in the celebration activities.
The Executive Director of Halfa Locality, Moukhles Hasaballa, saluted on the name of the citizens of the locality, the leaders of the Sudanese Red Crescent in the state, affirming that graduation of batches of Red Crescent volunteers in Halfa will be a strong boost to Halfa unit, as it has major roles in filling gaps in many health, disaster and environmental fields.
On his part, the head of the Board of Trustees of the Sudanese Red Crescent in the Northern State, Abu-Zaid Abdalla Haroun, affirmed that the Sudanese Red Crescent Society aims to serve humanity and raise capabilities, referring to the growing role of the Red Crescent in the health and environmental fields and combating harmful phenomena.
He called on youth and women to volunteer in the state under the umbrella of the Red Crescent and to provide distinguished services to the community.
On his part, the Head of the Red Crescent Celebration Committee in the state, Hisham Antar Noman, said that Halfa town hosted the closing activities of the celebrations of the 58th World Red Crescent and Red Cross Day, which came this year under the theme of (Let us volunteer for conserving our environment).
